Giving Back

Angel Flight

Angel Flight is the only nationwide organization of volunteer pilots, who donate their time to transport patients in need of specialized treatment unavailable locally. As one of 1,200 pilots in the South Central Division, President and CEO Jacob Garza has flown many missions. Following the widespread destruction caused by Hurricane Katrina in Louisiana, Garza also volunteered for a mission carrying much needed supplies to aid hurricane victims.

In addition to medical flights, AFSC also:

  • Maintains stand-by lists of pilots for organ transplant recipients
  • Provides emergency transportation in the event of a national disaster or terrorist attack
  • Flies other missions of compassion, on a case-by-case basis

Veterans Airlift Command

Veterans Airlift Command provides transportation for medical and other compassionate purposes to wounded warriors, veterans, and their families through a national network of volunteer aircraft owners and pilots.

The priorities are the veterans of Iraqi Freedom and Enduring Freedom (Afghanistan). As capacity allows, the mission will expand to serve veterans of other conflicts.
